Ephesians 3:17-19

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

In the Campbell River Vineyard, it is our heartfelt desire to live out these verses, to experience the depth of Christ’s love for us and then share it with the world around us.

 Who We Are

Paul’s prayer for “all the saints” expressed in Ephesians 3:16-19 best sums up our vision as a church.

It is not so much about what we do for God, but what He has done for us. It is about knowing the unfathomable, length, height, and depth of the love of Christ for YOU. It is a love that is actually beyond knowledge, a love that must be received and experienced to be understood. Even then there is no end to discovering more of Christ’s love.

According to Paul, it is our ongoing pursuit of the knowledge of Christ’s love that leads us into the fullness of God. Maturity as Christians is all about truly “getting” how much Christ loves you, letting that love heal you and then living out of that love!!

The love of Christ is best represented in His sacrificial death on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. God became a man to first show us what it really means to be a human being, what is possible for humanity in relationship with God. Jesus’ miracles, his compassion, and his wisdom are expressions of what is possible for us in relationship with God, but Jesus also made possible this restored relationship with God. Jesus emptied himself and became obedient to the Father…even unto death…he died in our place, he paid our debt, he took upon himself the full wrath of God…for us…all we have to do is receive it and say yes to Gods’ great big yes to us!!

So, to us in the Campbell River Vineyard, the Christian life is lived from a place of rest. We rest in Christ’s love and in His forgiveness won on the Cross, so that all ministries we do—both inside and outside our church—are motivated by and prayerfully express the love that Christ first gave us!

Values

Passionate worship to a personal God
We want to worship God because of his character and what he has done for us on the cross. We worship him by singing praises to God about God and living a lifestyle to honor him. Because he is personal he wants to interact with us through prayer. He also helps us through our difficulties. Whether that is healing people physically or emotionally or if he is transforming our character.
 
Being led by God’s word and the Holy Spirit
We believe the Bible is God’s true and accurate inspired word to us. The Bible shows us who God is and also teaches and trains us. We also believe the God himself as the Holy Spirit lives in us and his presence and power guides, teaches, empowers and transforms us. The spirit lives in us and therefore we believe in the present-day gifts of the spirit. We believe that both the Bible and the Holy Spirit point to Jesus, who is the living word who lived among us.
 
Empowering all People
We will help people identify and use their spiritual gifts. We believe in releasing, encouraging, and honouring people in using their gifting to achieve what God has planned for them. Some of these gifts are part of the five-fold ministry: apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher, and evangelist. This includes all generations of people: kids, youth, adults, and seniors.
 
Creating environments to meet people where they are
Jesus lived among people who were completely different from him, and they liked him. We want to model humility, honesty, authenticity, and vulnerability in all we do. When people do this, we want to exercise grace. This will create safe environments to foster authentic community.
 
Intentionally live and share the Gospel
We believe that Jesus death and resurrection pays the penalty for our sins. This has the power to transform us so to be more like Christ. The sacrificial love of Jesus should be seen by others in our words and actions. We want to intentionally live out the gospel and intentionally share the gospel with our words because faith in the Gospel will transform people’s lives. We want to help this occur locally and around the world.
 
Engage in Compassionate Ministry
It is our goal to show the practical love of God to the lost, poor, outcast, and outsider. God wants to use his church to love the whole world. This includes justice and mercy ministries which could include feeding the hungry, fighting for the marginalized and standing against social injustice.
 
The Power of Prayer
We believe that there is more to this world than the physical. Therefore, we come to God in prayer for everything we do. God is ultimately in control and we want to both talk and listen to him in prayer.
